In order to enter and be eligible to win the current BoxOffice competition(s), you agree to be bound by all of the Terms and Conditions outlined below, as well as the additional Terms and Conditions that govern the use of BoxOffice, and any of DStv’s products and services, available to read on their respective websites.


ADDITIONAL TERMS AND CONDITIONS PERTAINING TO THE

BoxOffice by DStv & Gravel Road Distribution Rent To Win a Family Getaway & Travel Luggage Competition

  1. BoxOffice by DStv, in partnership with Gravel Road is running a competition on its transactional-video-on-demand service that is available on the Explora PVR, HD PVR and SD PVR, promoting the rentals of the movie Music and driving awareness of the BoxOffice transactional-video-on-demand service
  1. The competition runs from 12 February 2021 to 31 March 2021 , ending at 23h59.
  1. The competition is running on BoxOffice by DStv in partnership with Gravel Road Distribution, in South Africa only and is thus open to DStv customers residing in SA only.
  1. Qualifying rentals must be completed on the Explora PVR, HD PVR and SD PVR
  2. The prize, sponsored by Gravel Road Distribution is as follows:
    1. A mini-break for a family of 4 for 2 nights and 3 days to Cape Town in a 4 Star Hotel (if family is Cape Town based, then an alternative city will be selected) and set of American Tourister luggage
    2. Total value of the prize is R 35 000
  1. The Mechanic:
    1. Rent a the movie Music on BoxOffice and stand a chance to win
    2. Prize: A mini-break for a family of 4 for 2 nights and 3 days to Cape Town in a 4 Star Hotel (if family is Cape Town based, then an alternative city will be selected) and a set of American Tourister luggage
  1. In order to qualify, DStv Accountholders and people authorised to make purchases on the accountholder’s account must rent the movie Music successfully on BoxOffice by DStv on the relevant PVR decoder between 12 February 2021 and 31 March 2021 at 23h59
  1. Every successful rental for the movie Music, made against a DStv Customer’s Account in this period will constitute an entry into the competition and will be entered into the draw. Renting the movie Music successfully more than once against as DStv Customer’s Account in this period will constitute as additional entries into the competition and will be entered into the draw.
  1. Should a DStv Customer have more than one DStv Customer Account, every successful rental for the movie Music, made against that account will constitute an entry into the competition and will be entered into the draw.
  1. By sending the rental code of the chosen movie by the customer, via any of the current rental processes on BoxOffice by DStv, the customer is automatically entered into the competition. No other means will be considered for this competition.
  1. The prize will be awarded to the DStv Primary Accountholder, including delivery to a specified address within the Republic of South Africa.
  1. The customer is responsible for any additional costs that may arise when redeeming this prize package
  2. Irrespective of the number of entries into the competition, the DStv customer can only win one (1) set of the prize.
  3. It is at the sole discretion of DStv and Gravel Road Distribution on whether or not to extend the competition period.
  1. Winner will be randomly selected from the qualifying entrants and results will be audited in-line with regulations that govern such competitions.
    1. The competition draws of the winners will take place at once at the end of the competition period. Each winner will be contacted following the draw.
    2. An acceptance letter will be sent electronically to the chosen winners.
    3. Subject to clause 30 of the Standard Terms and Conditions, should Lockdown restrictions, regulations and laws as imposed by the government of South Africa during this competition period, prevent delivery or take up of the prizes, the delivery of the prizes will take place as soon as these restrictions are uplifted and arrangements will be made to adjust the validity of the prize term for take up.
  2. The Family getaway is valid from date of handover to for a period of 1 (one) year.
  1. Music is charged as per the rental price displayed against each movie title and valid for 48 hours to view, subject to a successful rental.
  1. Customers may watch the movie Music once rented successfully, as many times as possible within this 48-hour period.
  1. Your initial “MAHALA” / “On the house / At NO Cost to you” movie rental will be counted towards the competition entries.
    1. Movie Credits will be used first before you will be required to pay for your selected rental.
  1. MultiChoice staff members as well as Gravel Road Distribution staff members (whether permanent or otherwise), their family members, any affiliates, partners and stakeholders are not eligible to enter and win the prize.
  1. Prizes are not transferable for cash.

STANDARD GRAVEL ROAD DISTRIBUTION COMPETITION TERMS AND CONDITIONS

  1. The competition is conducted by Gravel Road Distribution and it’s in association with its marketing agents.
  2. Entries are subject to the rental of the feature film Music on the DStv BoxOffice platform.
  3. No person who is a director, employee or agent of or consultant to Gravel Road Distribution and its partners, Samsonite, Travelwings, Multichoice or who is a spouse, life partner, parent, child, brother, sister, business partner or associate to a director, employee or agent of or consultant to the above is eligible to participate or enter this competition.
  4. This competition is only open to legal residents of the Republic of South Africa aged 18 years or over who have a valid South African Identity Document.
  5. The laws of the Republic of South Africa govern this competition.
  6. The competition starts 12 February 2021 and ends 31 March 2021.
  7. The entrant enters the competition at his/her own risk, cost and expense. The entrant unconditionally and irrevocably indemnifies and holds harmless Gravel Road Distribution and its successors, employees, officers, suppliers, contractors, agents, consultants, directors and shareholders against all and any death, injury, losses, claims, proceedings, actions, damages (direct, consequential or otherwise), liability, demands, expenses, legal costs (on an attorney and own client basis), medical costs or other costs howsoever arising out of, based upon, or in connection with (directly or indirectly) the entrant’s participation in the competition, to the maximum extent permitted by law.
  8. All winners will be notified telephonically and/or by email on the details used to enter the competition. If any winner cannot be reached after reasonable attempts and after the expiry of 3 days, such participant shall be disqualified and a draw for a replacement entry take place in the same manner as the first draw
  9. By participating in this competition, all entrants agree to be bound by these terms and conditions and indemnify the sponsors and its successors, employees, officers, suppliers, contractors, agents, consultants, directors and shareholders.
  10. Gravel Road Distribution and its partners reserves the right to cancel or alter any aspect of the competition at any time at its sole discretion without liability.
  11. The organisers may publish the winner’s names or image/s in any advertising and promotional material or digital media for this competition and any other future competition/s/promotions and by entering this competition the winner consents thereto. Any winner shall have no claim to any compensation or payment in respect to the use of his/her name or image.
  12. Gravel Road Distribution and its partners accepts no liability whatsoever in relation to, and the entrant hereby indemnifies Gravel Road Distribution and it’s against, any loss, expense, claim or damage, whether direct, indirect, special or consequential, arising from any competition information, material or content contained in the competition information on or in any medium.
  13. Gravel Road Distribution and its partners makes no representation or warranty, whether express or implied, as to the operation, integrity, availability or functionality of the competition information or linked websites or as to the accuracy, completeness or reliability of any information within this competition information.
  14. Gravel Road Distribution and its partners also makes no warranty or representation, whether express or implied, that the products, information or files available online are free of viruses, worms, destructive materials or any other data or code which is able to corrupt, compromise or jeopardise the operation or content of a computer system, computer network or entrants hardware or software. The entrant accepts all risk associated with the existence of such viruses, worms, destructive materials or any other data or code which is able to corrupt, compromise or jeopardise the operation or content of a computer system, computer network or entrant’s hardware or software.
  15. The organisers have the right to terminate this competition referred to immediately and without notice. In the event of such termination, all participants hereby immediately agree to waive any rights they may have in terms of this competition and acknowledge that they have no recourse against the organisers, its agents and/or promoters.

Despite the fact that the competition information may refer to and/or provide links to other online platforms or websites, entrant’s use of such other online platforms or websites is entirely at entrant’s own risk and Gravel Road Distribution not responsible for any loss, expense, claim or damage, whether direct, indirect, special or consequential, arising from entrant’s use of such other online platform or websites. It should be noted that the use of different parts of the competition information, online platforms or websites may be subject to additional terms and conditions as indicated on that part of the competition information, online platforms or websites.
  2. The organisers nor their partners and/or agents can be held responsible for computer system hardware, software or program errors, or other failures in computer transmissions or network connections for any entries lost, illegible, incomplete, damaged or misdirected entries.
  3. Different products, services, events or competitions offered, provided or held by Gravel Road Distribution and its partners may also be subject to further terms and conditions and entrant’s use of these products, services, events or competitions will also be subject to the terms and conditions governing the relevant products, services, events or competitions.
  4. If an entrant contravenes these terms and conditions such entrant may, at Gravel Road Distribution and its partners’ discretion, be disqualified from the competition.
  5. The judge’s decision is final and no correspondence will be entered into.
  6. The organisers internal auditors are the appointed auditors for this competition and the organisers further have the right to appoint external auditors in its sole discretion and for whatever reason
  7. Income taxes, airport taxes and third party charges if any, relating to the prizes, are the sole responsibility of the prize winner(s).
  8. The prize winner(s) will be notified and/or announced in accordance with competition-specific mechanics, and standard Gravel Road Distribution and its partners operating procedures and terms and conditions, that may vary dependent on the nature or type of competition.
  9. The prize is not transferable and/or negotiable nor may be exchanged for cash
  10. Gravel Road Distribution and its partners is not liable for any damaged prize items after signature of receipt at the point of prize collection.
  11. The prize may be subject to additional terms and conditions, and is subject to availability of accommodation and flights, which the prize winner(s) must comply with.
  12. The prize winner(s) may be requested to participate in publicity connected to this competition.
  13. The prize winner(s) grants permission for the use of his/her name(s) and photograph(s) in any advertising and promotional material for this competition.
  14. Any person who accesses, uses, participates in or relies on the competition information does so entirely at their own risk.
  15. We and our third party suppliers, as the case may be, reserve the right to vary, postpone, suspend, or cancel the competition and any prizes, or any aspect thereof, without notice at any time, for any reason which we, given the Disaster Management Regulations concerning the COVID-19 pandemic, and/ or any other reasons, and at our sole discretion, deem necessary. In the event of such variation, postponement, suspension or cancellation, you agree to waive any rights, interests and expectations that you may have in terms of this competition and acknowledge that you will have no recourse against us, our affiliates and third party suppliers, in any respect.
  16. Winners are responsible for all personal, wellness and health related expenses including but not limited to chronic ailments, medical insurance and Covid-19 related regulations and requirements as amended from time to time to time.
  17. The prize is valid for 12 months effective from when the prize winner is notified.
