Earlier this year, The MultiChoice Group announced that the M-Net (DStv 101) and M-Net City (DStv 115) would be expanding their must-see entertainment slate with some of Britain’s best viewing. This means brand-new seasons of your favourite shows can now be viewed on DStv Premium’s flagship channel, while long-running soapies Emmerdale and Coronation Street move to M-Net City for extended drama.

Baghdad Central S1

Elliot Colla’s novel of the same name is brought to life in 2003 Baghdad as the city is under US-coalition control. Retired police inspector Muhsin al-Khafaji (Waleed Zuaiter) launches a mission to find his missing daughter Sawsan (Leem Lubany) after she goes missing but his search is hampered by the military. To gain access to the prohibited Green Zone, Muhsin calls in a favour and starts working for the police again.

Binge your British faves on Showmax

In addition to M-Net, the MultiChoice Group has further enhanced its British entertainment offering by including popular British titles on popular internet streaming service Showmax.

Already, the first two seasons of the epic, bloody and unexpectedly irreverent period fantasy Britannia, as well as the debut seasons of TrigonometryDas BootMiracle WorkersThe War of the WorldsGood Karma Hospital and Noughts and Crosses are available to stream first on Showmax.

Come 2021, Showmax will also add The Bay S1 and Baghdad Central S1 to its British offering. In The Bay, DS Lisa Armstrong (Morven Christie) is the mother of two children and working for (the fictional) West Lancashire Police Service as a Family Liaison Officer (FLO). Meanwhile it’s 2003 and Iraq is occupied by a US-led coalition in S1 of Baghdad Central, and Sawsan’s (Leem Lubany) daughter has gone missing. Muhsin al-Khafaji (Waleed Zuaiter), an ex-police inspector in the Iraqi Police Service, determines to find her.
