Covid-19 impacts DStv Indian package

Zee TV and Colors are just some of the channels impacted

Filming has been halted at Film City in Mumbai, India, as well as a number of other locations where content for the DStv Indian package is filmed. The disruption comes as a number of other productions and television schedules have been affected by the global Covid-19 pandemic.

Some prime time programming on the DStv Indian package has been affected by the production paused. This includes:

Zee TV

After the recent announcement of lockdown from multiple countries due to the ongoing global pandemic of the COVID-19 virus, many television channels are faced with a challenge to bring fresh content for their viewers due to the disruption in production schedules. But, even through these tough times, Zee TV Africa viewers can still enjoy a lineup of fresh content on their screens.

Starting 6 April, Zee TV Africa - DStv Indian channel 452 will bring a new lineup of brand-new shows in its prime-time lineup. Starting with Vikram Betaal the mythological serial of the legendary king of Ujjain at 18:00; Gangaa – a story about a girl who becomes a widow on the day of her wedding at 18:30; Meri Hanikarak Biwi– a drama about an illiterate wrestler who meets an aspiring medical student who unknowingly performs a life-altering operation on him at 19:00 and Agent Raghav - an anthology of crime fictions at 20:00. The channel will also add two additional movie slots at 13:30 and 21:00 every weekday.

  • Weekday daily show Mujhse Shaadi Karoge has been halted until further notice.
  • All other original shows will continue as scheduled.
  • Shakti, Barrister Babu and Shubharambh will continue uninterrupted until at least 27 March.
  • Nati Pinky and Chhoti Sardarni will be uninterrupted until at least 24 March.
  • Pavitra Bhagya and Naagin Season 4 (both Balaji shows) will continue uninterrupted until at least 22 March.


At present, the channel’s schedule of original shows has not been disrupted by the global pandemic. “However, the situation is changing daily, so we’re in regular content with the production houses and our vendors to ensure the supply line continues,” a representative said.
