DStv Family has a warm welcome for you in January 2021

Gameshows to laugh at, party animals on parade, work families and weird families – they’re all on DStv Family to welcome in the new year

You’re in good company with DStv Family this January. We’re still social distancing, but TV is full of faces we know and love, and new people to become obsessed with. It’s viewing to take you away from all your Janu-worries.

There are 3 gameshows to have you in stitches, including The Masked Singer and a show that has Neels van Jaarsveld at his silly best. Herman Lensing, Desus & Mero, and Minki are getting chatty with their friends. And if you miss party days with your friends, there are Real Housewives, Hip Hop royalty, and one polygamous family whose lockdown lives must have been something else when all 8 of them were squished in together! And your favourite shows are back, including The Outpost, NCIS and Chicago PD, along with a brand-new Turkish telenovela to fall in love with.

Here’s everything you need to set a reminder for this month on DStv Family...

Fun and games

If you’ve played that game where you and your friends all draw different parts of the same drawing without looking at what the person before you has drawn, you’ll get the idea behind Neels van Jaarsveld’s new kitchen gameshow. There’s a new season of The Masked Singer, and VIA is bringing us the ultimate twisted dating reality series! What a great way to leave your Janu-worries behind.

Afloskombuis S1

In cooking competition show Afloskombuis, presented by Neels van Jaarsveld (Ben van Wyk in Fynskrif), each week 2 teams compete to prepare a delicious dish. But there’s a catch: the 3 members of each team take turns in the kitchen, and when they tag the next person, they must guess what the previous one planned.

We have Alpheus Maseko’s polygamous family, hip hop kids, the Robinson Peetes, two groups of Real Housewives who’re making us yearn for sunshine and wine parties with friends, and even some architects who’re inviting us into their homes. There’s someone for everyone.

Sizzling series

January has a series to suit your mood, from the brand-new season of political scheming in sci-fi series The Outpost, to the intense gangster mysteries of new Turkish telenovela 8th Day, and the emotional overload of South African series Still Breathing. There are also new seasons of cop series like Chicago PD and NCIS, and one last laugh with Modern Family.
