The festive season brings a short break from what can only be described as a challenging year for both kids and adults. With limited things to do, there’s all the more time to find wholesome content that can both educate and entertain your kids.

But not to fear as DStv is here!

From marathons on Nick Jr (DStv 307) to festive movies such as Dr Seuss’ The Grinch, a jam-packed line-up will ensure they’re never bored. Plus, TNT (DStv 137) joins in keeping the kids entertained with a Christmas Week Party Special that includes movies such as Big Hero 6 and The Croods while NickToons (DStv 308) will be airing holiday episodes of Horrid Henry.


A Top Wing Christmas

This Canadian animated series centers around Swift, Penny, Rod and Brody who are best friends and cadets-in-training. Top Wing Academy is where they will learn what it takes to become the most sought-after rescue birds in Big Swirl Island. On Christmas Day, the cadets must rescue Santa after he fails to bring them presents. Entertaining and fun, Top Wing will also teach kids the importance of working together and help them develop problem-solving skills in a healthy way.

The Angry Birds Movie 2

After returning a hero and being tasked with saving Bird Island from the Pigs, Red now has to join forces with them. To ensure that neither island gets destroyed by Zeta, the leader of Eagle Island, Red must join forces with Leonard to keep Bird Island safe. An unlikely partnership is formed, but Red will do whatever it takes to protect his legacy as a hero.

Dr Seuss’ The Grinch

This animated remake of the festive classic sees Dr. Seuss' character The Grinch (voiced by Benedict Cumberbatch) become increasingly annoyed with the ever-growing festive cheer that has taken over the village of Whoville. To ruin the festive spirit, the Grinch teams up with his dog to bring an end to his annoyance.

Can Cindy Lou Who (Gossip Girl’s Taylor Momsen), a six-year-old girl with an odd hairstyle, make him believe in the magic of Christmas enough to reform him?

TNT Christmas Week Party Special

No matter their age, your kids and tweens will enjoy the family fun and lighthearted films showing on TNT (DStv 137) this week.

Big Hero 6

Grab the tissues for this heartwarming tearjerker. Big Hero 6 sees an unlikely friendship between a boy and a healthcare robot. Hiro, a robotics genius, finds comfort in his brother's healthcare robot Baymax and ‘convinces’ him that avenging his brother's death will help Hiro feel better. Apart from the dynamic duo, Hiro’s friends make up a team of high-tech heroes who are determined to find out what happened on that fateful night in San Fransokyo.
