Four fantastic shows that are perfect for New-vember

On Disney Junior (DStv 308) this week, the highly-anticipated Mira Royal Detective premieres 9 November at 18:00. This exciting new show, starring Frieda Pinto, Jameela Jamil and Hannah Simone, is inspired by Indian culture and customs.

Mira Royal Detective S1

Inspired by Indian culture and customs, this animated mystery series will take you and your little ones on an epic adventure while learning key life lessons. It follows a brave and resourceful girl named Mira and her many friends. Set in a fictional kingdom that resembles 19th-century India, Mira is the first commoner to be appointed as a royal detective for the queen. She travels all over Jalpur with her two mongoose BFFs, Mikku and Chikku, helping whenever she can. Mira is a wonderful role model with kindness, patience and deductive reasoning. Prominent South Asian actors also contribute to the series, with the likes of Jameela Jamil (The Good Place), Freida Pinto (Slumdog Millionaire), Hannah Simone ( New Girl) and Maulik Pancholy (30 Rock) all providing recurring vocals. Ella Bella Bingo

Dubbed in English, this is fun Norwegian animated movie is aimed at ages six and up. It follows the adventures of Ella and her unusual jealousy as new-kid-in-town Johnny takes all the time and attention from Henry, Ella’s best friend. With no one to practice her magic tricks with, Ella decides to sabotage the budding friends. A lovely afternoon show that teaches the beauty of friendship and kindness.
