Fun viewing for kids this week on DStv

There’s a world of adventure waiting this week on DStv. From trips to outer space to learning the true meaning of friendship and family... you never know what will happen in DStv’s School of Laughter.

A magical Saturday awaits with Troll: The Tale of a Tail on M-Net (DStv channel 101). It tells the story of a troll prince and his trusty friends who must trek across the dangerous and deadly kingdom of Ervod to save his father, King Grom.

If you’re looking for the coolest, most techy club in town then look no further than Odd Squad on Da Vinci (DStv channel 318). Olive and Otto are both Agent First Class and best friends. Together they have to protect their city from all things weird and strange, like a pair of pants with disappearing zeroes and a mysterious girl who speaks only in riddles.

In the 21st century, a new generation of astronauts will be launched into space. This time though, they aren’t there to explore the stars. Instead, they’re going to the moon to build a base from which to launch a probe into deep space. Their most important mission? Being able to recreate earth-like elements that include growing food, building structures and moving around easily. They call it Project Greenglow: The Quest for Gravity Control – don’t miss it on Da Vinci (DStv channel 318).

Parents and kids will be happy to see fresh, new episodes of their favourite shows, too. Peppa Pig starts on Nick Jr (DStv channel 307), Spongebob Squarepants on Nickelodeon (DStv channel 305) and Andy’s Aquatic Adventures S1 on CBeebies (DStv channel 306) will keep the whole family entertained!

Odd Squad

Odd Squad is a high-tech organisation run by kids that investigate anything strange, weird and especially odd. Led by Olive (aka 5) and her brother Otto (aka 0), along with their friends Sam and Ripley, they save the day using math skills and a little bit of teamwork. Voiced by Emmy-award nominee (and super cool geek) Kristen Schaal of HBO's Flight of the Conchords, Disney Channel's The Muppets and the upcoming Despicable Me 2, Odd Squad is math for kids – and grown-ups who never, ever want to grow up.
