How to rent movies on BoxOffice

Renting the latest blockbuster movies just got easier! Find out about the latest BoxOffice features here, and rent the latest titles now.

Movie lovers, getting a brand new blockbuster movie to watch is now so much easier with BoxOffice by DStv.

Traditionally, customers would type in a 18-digit rental code and send this via SMS, mobile web, FB Messenger or WhatsApp. Now, we’ve improved the rental experience with a brand new feature that is available on all Exploras that are connected to the internet.

All you have to do is:

  1. Go to the BoxOffice screen on your DStv Explora or DStv Explora Ultra (remember, your DStv must be connected to the internet)
  2. Press OK
  3. Find the movie you’d like to rent
  4. Press OK and select Rent Now
  5. Accept the Terms & Conditions
  6. Select DStv Account as the payment option
  7. Wait a few seconds as your BoxOffice rental is processed
  8. Enjoy your movie!

And in another exciting development – we’ve added the PIN protection upfront. This means you can now choose to set the PIN here to prevent anyone from renting without your knowledge.
