kykNET announces new presenter for Boer Soek ‘n Vrou

The hit reality series welcomes a new face in time for its 13th season.

Hit reality series Boer Soek ‘n Vrou welcomes Marciel Hopkins as its new presenter.

The model and life coach succeeds Afrikaans singer Leah as the face of Boer Soek ’n Vrou, which will premiere its 13th season later this year.

Marciel, who was a top 12 finalist in the 2016 Miss South African pageant, will be the sixth presenter of the show, which first aired in 2007. The 26-year-old studied drama at the University of Stellenbosch and also has an Honours Degree in psychology. Since her studies she has qualified as a life coach too and also gives motivational talks.

Though travelling all over the world as a professional model, Marciel says she is ready to tackle the dirt roads to farms across South Africa. After all, she grew up in the Boland between vineyards because of her father Charles, who is now the cellar master at the renowned Cape Town wine estate De Grendel.

It is indeed a dream come true for Marciel to do television presenting in Afrikaans. “I’m passionate about people and to make an impact on their lives, therefore I couldn’t have asked for a better opportunity to be part of Boer Soek ’n Vrou,” she says.

“This opportunity allows me to be part of the journeys of ten farmers who are looking for true love.”

She’s also excited to see more of South Africa as the show travels across the country to visit the finalists. “I’m going to see parts of South Africa that I wouldn’t have visited otherwise. Therefore I’ll be a tourist in my own country!”

Entries for farmers who want to participate in S13 of Boer Soek ’n Vrou in 2020 opens on 24 February, while the show will air in October on kykNET.
