Breaking the glass ceiling as never so funny in Late Night. Katherine Newbury is a successful late-night talk show host - and the only woman. In an attempt to garner an even bigger audience she hires an Indian American woman as her writer. The results are disastrous.

The network's president, Caroline Morton (Hillary Swank), tells Katherine to fix up her show or she will be replaced. In an attempt to revamp the show, Katherine has Molly Patel (Mindy Kaling) hired to her writing staff, mainly on the basis that she is an Indian-American woman while all remaining writers are white men.
