Traditional Wedding S5

Traditional Wedding’s brand-new season is getting something old (and beloved): host Kamo Bombe; and something new: its new Saturday evening timeslot (from Saturday 7 March on Moja Love, DStv channel 157 at 18:00). Last season brought us viral KFC couple Nonhlanhla and Victor’s gorgeous wedding day. And this season promises even more excitement, more diverse South African customs and traditions, and more couples redefining how we celebrate love. Kamo will be taking an intimate look at traditional customs, clothing and lobola negotiations. As always, have tissues handy when the couples talk about one another and the love shines out of them.

Starts on Saturday 7 March on Moja Love (DStv channel 157) at 18:00

Single & Mingle S1

Ever wanted to be a fly on the wall during your friends’ Tinder dates? New dating show Single & Mingle takes us there as it follows singles on blind dates (from Saturday 7 March on Moja Love, DStv channel 157 at 19:00). And the show has prepared special ice-breaking events to get them to mingle. It’s an adventure! There are also to-camera interviews that will reveal what’s going on in the daters’ heads. Prepare to get judgey as the daters critique each other’s clothes, tattoos, dating location choices and so much more. And the date could ditch at any point, so expect drama.

Bheka Sikubambile S2

Prankster VMesh is back to catch South Africa on camera (from Saturday 7 March on Moja Love, DStv channel 157 at 19:30). Whether her team is leaping out of the mielies making cannibal noises, or dragging a suitcase with a whole live person inside it down the road, or begging for help carrying a coffin in public – only for the bottom to fall out – they always make us laugh… or scream and run.

The Way Ngingakhona S1

Coming out can be complicated. In this brand-new show (from Saturday 7 March on Moja Love, DStv channel 157 at 20:00), three best friends Tholang Motsumi, Innocent Matijane and Mj Maponya – who’re members of the LGBTIQA+ community (lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender, intersex, queer, asexual and other sexual orientations) – weigh up the options of living in the closet or coming out to their families and loved ones. There are questions to consider, like whether (and how) to share their truth when a loved one is on their deathbed. It’s a sympathetic and nuanced look at our relationships with ourselves and with others, and how secrecy affects our lives.

He also has an unconventional family made up of two wives and five husbands who’re nyangas and isangoma. Two of Maseko’s partners are also siblings.
