The Bachelorette SA S1

The shoe is on the other foot, the rose is in her hands now, and The Bachelor SA S2 contestant and social anthropology student Qiniso Van Damme is ready to meet her own suitors as South Africa’s first-ever Bachelorette. Among the men looking to make an impression, she has a teacher, an architecture student, an accountant, a hip hop banker, and a “digital nomad” who’s living with 8 of his buddies.

“I’m really open to meeting all kinds of handsome hunks with beautiful personalities who think I might be their gal. I want someone who isn’t afraid to be themselves, is a citizen of the world, proud to be South African and willing to grow with me. If he can make me laugh, he will definitely score some extra points. And being tall would be a bonus. But c’mon guys, surprise me. Don’t be afraid, as long as you’re caring, kind and honest and you think we’re a potential match, I want to meet you and get to know you,” says Qiniso, who’d also like a guy who can pronounce her name properly.

Love Island SA S1

Soapie star and host of Slank and Kom Ons Jol Leandie du Randt is presenting the first-ever season of reality dating show Love Island South Africa. A group of sexy single South Africans are converging on a swanky villa in Cape Town, prepared for a Summer of romance, friendship and fun. Every few days, they’ll have to pair off with someone they fancy, and that’s hard luck when some people are on everyone’s “want” list, and some, not so much. If nobody wants you, so sorry, you’re off the “island”. But even those who’re coupled up can’t just kick back in the pool together. There are new people arriving on the island, offering new temptations. And challenges will make people re-think their choices when it turns out it’s not enough just to be hot. Meanwhile, viewers will get their say, too.

The season launches with a special 90-minute episode on Sunday 28 February at 20:00. Then new 1-hour episodes will air Monday-Friday at 21:30, with unseen footage from the week airing every Sunday following the 20:00 movie.
