Recap: The Bachelor SA S2 E3

Marc kissed Qiniso and said goodbye to Greta and Tamryn. Now the ladies get the last word!

You could cut the tension from last night’s episode of The Bachelor SA (Thursdays at 19:00 on M-Net, DStv channel 101) with a knife. Apart from the commotion inside the mansion – which had nothing to do with fighting for Marc’s heart but everything to do with the petty dispute between the purple and pink room. The hunk scored his first kiss with vivacious model Qiniso during their out-of-town date in Durban. Marc was smitten and described their chemistry as easy and “feeling like home”. He even admitted that he’d like to meet her family. Could this be a hint that she could get a hometown date?

Getting the house in order

Most of the remaining ladies blame opinionated radio personality Nolo for the squabble. They wanted her eliminated. Their jaws dropped when Marc handed her a rose and, in the end, it was the purple room Queen Bee and nail artist Greta and say-it-like-it-is soldier Tamryn who got kicked out.

Almost nailed it, Greta!

Judging from Greta’s long and well-manicured nails, Marc will miss out on an epic neck massage and a tickle from those claws of beauty. “I didn’t spend a lot of time with him, we were still getting to know each other. But from what I’ve gathered, Marc is timid and reserved. I think I would’ve been too loud for him,” says Greta of her failed romance with The Bachelor.

She’s glad that she left the show before she developed strong feelings for the lead. “Marc is handsome and I’m at peace with his decision. I absolutely enjoyed every minute of being in the house though. I was true to my authentic self. I won’t be everyone’s cup of tea or glass of champagne.”

Greta credits the reality show for friendships she has built with some of the ladies, adding, “I had a great deal of self-growth while I was on the show. I’m still learning more about myself every day and I love it!”

The brave soldier

Tamryn would’ve liked to have spent more time with Marc too. Apart from the group date at the racetrack, she didn’t get to see much of him.

“I’m not that sad to be going home though. I had the most exquisite date and experience on the show. I never get to dress up, so my friends and colleagues were shocked to see me in these beautiful ballgowns and stilettoes. I went from being G.I. Jane to Miss Congeniality,” says Tamryn proudly.

“I never thought that I’d wear my heart on my sleeve and put myself out there like I did on The Bachelor SA. I learnt that there is nothing wrong with being vulnerable. In future, I shouldn’t be scared to be open in a relationship. I am optimistic about the future and I am no longer fearful of the ‘what ifs’.”

The Bachelor SA Season 2 airs every Thursday at 19:00 on M-Net Channel 101. DStv Premium viewers can also tune in on Catch-up, or stream episodes live via their mobile devices on the DStv Now app.
