Super Soccer fan madness hits Cartoon Network

Team spirit reigns supreme on the number-one Coolest Kids TV Channel, where you’ll find a whole lot of soccer fun.

Cartoon Network is turning up the heat with a frenzy of exhilarating soccer and lots of pitch action. To coincide with the official kick-off of the Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) on 21 June, the number one kids channel in Africa has put together an exciting line-up of programming as well as a fresh digital soccer experience.

First off, the much-loved soccer animation series Supa Strikas is now exclusively on Cartoon Network. In this brand-new season starting Monday 17 June, Shakes and his teammates go for gold their quest to be crowned Super League champs. Against all the odds, can the Supa Strikas take the Super League trophy this season?

Then, the kids (and adults too!) can get into the game themselves with the freshly upgraded 2019 version of Cartoon Network’s most downloaded game across the continent, Toon Cup. Bring on the whacky cartoon soccer matches! Toon Cup challenges players to assemble a team from well-loved Cartoon Network characters (including the Powerpuff Girls and Gumball) and get playing. The best part is, the game is available for free and can either be downloaded from your app store or played online, so get ready to make passes, tackle your opponents and score goals to reach the finals of the biggest tournament in the world.

Here’s what you can expect

Cartoon Network is also proud to announce its exciting partnership with SuperSport United Soccer Schools along with talented Bafana Bafana and SuperSport United FC mid-fielder Dean Furman for a total knock out.

The partnership kicked off with the young SuperSport United Soccer Schools academy champs donning their brand-new Supa Strikas-inspired Cartoon Network kit and will see Cartoon Network providing long-term sponsorship to three rising soccer players from disadvantaged communities.

“I am really excited about this partnership with Cartoon Network and the difference its corporate social responsibility initiative aims to make in the lives of children whose full potential is not realised because of their background,” says Furman.
