Get the trends & recommends from Mzansi’s hottest up and comers at DStv’s The NextFlex

Looking for a quick way to check out playlists of DStv’s hottest shows, movies, series and sports, put together by TV fanatics like you (but famous)? Well, we've got you. It’s The NextFlex and it's brought to you by DStv.

Pop over to thenextflex.co.za, and find someone who shares your taste or who you think has great taste. Check out their playlist, try the shows they love and you could uncover some new favourites of your own.

You’ll also be able to see the current Top Picks from DStv insiders’ own playlists. So you can see what the people who get to check out every show in SA before it’s even on TV here are obsessing over, in real time.

Each show on The NextFlex site has a link that’ll take you directly through to watch the latest episode on the DStv App, or a link that’ll take you to the relevant channel if the series only plays live.

If you’re on the fence, there will also be a quote directly from the person whose NextFlex it is, that will tell you exactly what there is to love.

For instance, clicking on Celebrity Game Night SA (which is currently airing Sundays on E! (DStv channel 124) At 20:00, with the finale on 1 April) on Uncle Vinny’s (Kabelo Vincent Ndlovu) Flex reveals that this is a must-watch series because, “It's dope to see our celeb's making fun of themselves. Jason is a funny guy and Anele is always doing the things".

An early adopter as always, Uncle Vinny is the first person in SA with his own NextFlex playlist. We call him the Culture King and he's one of the hottest rising personalities in the country. As an MC, radio presenter, event curator and fashion icon, Kabelo aka Uncle Vinny not only has his fingers on the pulse of cool culture, he’s setting the beat.

His recommendations are fire! "My playlist is lit. I've got some music, NBA action and comedies to keep y'all laughing,” says Vinny. But he also can’t resist a true crime show, certain reality series, and music shows (he was the youngest person to ever present an award at the South African Hip Hop Awards). “My favourite shows would be DStv Premiership (whether or not his team is winning, he’s no fair weather soccer fan!), Celebrity Game Night, and anarchic animation series Rick and Morty (on Showmax)."Has to be my favourite show ever! Everyone talks about it and the way they poke fun at all the other famous shows and people, it's killer,” he says of Rick and Morty.

Who else is Flexing?

Each week throughout April we’ll see a new tastemaker go live with their NextFlex. Keep your eyes peeled and find out who’s crazy about just a few of the following shows that are making the NextFlex. Or be sneaky. Check them out now on the DStv App, and you could be the one to Flex to your friends first!
