We’re making it even EASIER to rent BoxOffice blockbusters!

We’ve consolidated customer accounts - from subscriptions, to BoxOffice rentals, Price Lock payments, Decoder Insurance, Showmax subscription, holiday home connections and reconnections.

This makes your life easier – with only ONE amount to pay each month instead of separate payments for the various services you use.

As part of this change, we’re doing away with the BoxOffice account and simplifying rentals!

There have always been multiple ways to pay for your BoxOffice movie – from adding the rental to your account to choosing one of the mobile payment options (including payment via credit card).

Adding rentals to a BoxOffice Account (for payment later in the month) was however only available to customers paying by debit order or those with money in their BoxOffice Account.

Now anyone can add BoxOffice rentals to their DStv account!

Select DStv Account as your payment option when renting a movie & we'll add it to your account at the end of the month.

No hassle. No queues. No searching for your credit card.

And if you’re not already paying by debit order, finding out how much to pay at the end of each month is easy! You can do it via our self service on WhatsApp (060 060 3788) or via our mobile app.

What does this mean for me? I have a debit order and always pay for rentals using my BoxOffice Account.

You can continue to rent movies without upfront payment. When renting a movie, select DStv Account* as your payment option (*if you are using an older PVR, select BoxOffice Account). Then follow the normal steps to send us your rental code.

We’ll add the rental to your bill at the end of the month (as we did before) and include it on your debit order. Where previously there would have been two debit orders each month (one for BoxOffice and the second for any other DStv costs), there will now only be one debit order each month.

What does this mean for me? I do not have a debit order and always pay for rentals using my BoxOffice Account.

Any credit in your BoxOffice Account has been moved to your single DStv Account and will be used to pay any existing or future DStv amounts due.

This makes things much easier for you! With the removal of the BoxOffice Account, you don’t need to pay money into a separate account, nor do you need to move money between your accounts when wanting to rent movies.

You’ll also never get blocked from renting a movie just because there are insufficient funds in your account.

You can continue to rent movies and pay for them as you currently do.

However, it’s now even easier to rent! If you want to, you can add BoxOffice rentals to your DStv Account and we’ll add the rental(s) to your bill at the end of the month. You’ll then pay for those rentals when making your normal monthly payment.

Does this mean that I don’t need to put money into a BoxOffice Account to rent movies?

That’s correct – any money that you pay to DStv will be used to cover all of your DStv costs (including subscriptions, BoxOffice rentals, insurance, Access Fees and/or any other costs).
