Some of our favourite shows are back from break, including prisoner-turned-lawyer drama For Life, The Real Housewives of Orange County, and Growing Up Hip Hop.
Speaking of happy returns, we're excited to see the revival of The Biggest Loser because with a focus on wellness as well as weight loss, the rules have changed.
Where DStv Compact Plus really knocks it out of the park this February, is with factual content, from gorgeous nature documentaries – including a Valentine’s Day special about animal courtship – an intriguing documentary on the cutting edge of genetic engineering, and the sensational and enormously entertaining true-crime series Love Fraud. Get into it!
In a celebration of all the entertainment we love, the 2021 MTV Africa Music Awards will air on Saturday, 20 February on MTV Base (DStv 360) at 21:00.
E! Live From The Red Carpet will bring us the fashion moments from the 2021 Golden Globes on Sunday, 28 February on E! Entertainment (DStv 124) at 00:00 (Monday morning).
And oh, honey! If you’ve lost your heart to African entertainment, you’ll be counting down the days to the launch of DStv’s brand-new pan-African lifestyle channel, Honey (DStv 173). In My Wild Backyard, Karen Odendaal gives us a tour of the Manyoni Private Game Reserve in Zululand. And have you ever seen a giant, coconut-hunting crab?
February leads us on a history chase with Nazis, sunken treasure ships, and a series all about treasure hunters all over the world. And for a real treasure, we have Women Who Made History.
This true-crime documentary mini-series investigates con man Richard Scott Smith who used the internet to prey on lonely women, marrying them and taking them for every penny before vanishing – until these ladies went looking for him… and found each other! From then on, with a bounty hunter on their side, they were determined to turn the tables on this love louse.

If you’re looking for a laugh, New Girl star Max Greenfield and Cedric The Entertainer make an unexpectedly sharp comedy duo it their sitcom The Neighborhood, while quick on their feet stand-up comics turn the party in Adam DeVine’s House Party and rant & roast series The Burn With Jeff Ross.
The drama about Aaron Wallace, a man who studied to become a lawyer while he was behind bars for a crime he didn’t commit, is back from production break with episode 6, in which COVID-19 strikes Bellmore Prison. Aaron returns to the prison to see how he can help, while Marie must choose between potentially exposing her family to COVID, or leaving her hospital job.

Long-time Biggest Loser trainer Bob Harper returns to host this brand-new rebooted series. Say goodbye to temptation challenges – nobody’s waving doughnuts at hungry people anymore. There’s no more voting to send people home, and in an effort to support maintenance of the weight loss, everyone will be given gym membership, access to a nutritionist and a support group after the show.

LeBron James and Maverick Carter’s sports star-focused talkshow has a special guest in this one-off: former US President Barack Obama. They’ll be discussing life in the NBA bubble, and how social justice came into play, the racial climate inside the US around November 2020, and the vital role of fighting back against voter suppression. Barack will also address police brutality and systemic inequality.
