Is love’s labour lost or accepted? Well… let your family decide

Mzansi’s favourite dating show, Date My Family, is back! Will mom, dad and the family pick the best partner? Watch it on DStv.

Love seekers across Mzansi will once again call on the approval from mom and dad when the second half of season seven of Date My Family returns to DStv. But, does your family know which boxes to tick when it comes to finding a potential partner?

Dating is one of the toughest things in life, now imagine going on a blind date picked for you by your friends and family – scary, right? While the experience of having to dress to the nines, making small talk and answering awkward questions about yourself, your past and your life isn’t excruciating enough, Mzansi Magic’s Date My Family steps in to help you decide… and brings a whole bunch of people along for the ride.

How it works

The catch is, however, that singletons don’t just get meet their “possible” person of their dreams, they meet the potential partner’s friends and family and it is ultimately up to them to decide if the pair would be a match made in heaven or two peas in two completely different pods. The question on everyone’s lips… can you really trust your family and friends to help you find love?

Every episode of Date My Family is not only must-watch TV for Monday’s conversation at work or Sunday night when Twitter gets all lit about the show, but it’s actually highly educational: Mzansi’s young and old are educated on what not to do when you go on a date!

And the rules are

Don’t be rude. Don’t be sexist. Don’t make outrageous demands or declarations of who and what a potential love should and shouldn’t be or do. You’d think that’s obvious, but when potential dates sit down with family members and are subjected to various questions, they often say the most ridiculous things, voice the most insane expectations and give the craziest jaw-dropping answers ever!

More utterly hilarious – and often cringeworthy – dates await in the second half of the seventh season of Date My Family.

Date My Family returns on Sunday 24 November on Mzansi Magic (161) at 18:00.
