The 15th season of Idols SA returns in all its glory. Don’t miss all the moments that make this show such a hit.
They’re putting the gang back together
Only one thing comes to mind when we see Somizi, Unathi and Randall taking their seats under the spotlights: Idols SA is back, every Sunday at 17.30 from 7 July. The no-nonsense judging trio is back this season to steer these singing hopefuls on the right path and arm them with everything they need to know about the entertainment industry.
Who better than choreographer, radio and television personality Somizi Mhlongo to dispense some much-needed advice for those hopefuls looking at this fame through rose-tinted glasses?
2. Unathi Nkayi
When it comes to music, Unathi Nkayi is the voice of experience. She won a Metro FM Music Award for Best Female Artist and has been nominated twice for the South African Music Awards (SAMAs).
3. Randall Abrahams
Known as the “strict judge” and for being super critical on the show, Randall Abrahams knows how to spot star talent. In short, if a contestant impresses Randall, we know without they’re one to watch out for.
Stars are made on Idols
From winner Khaya Mthethwa, who’s won a SAMA for Best Contemporary Faith Music Album, to Musa, who’s collaborated with music legends like Ringo Madlingozi and Robbie Malinga, doors open when you hit the Idols SA stage. Even contestants who didn’t win the title, like Amanda Black and Shekinah, have seen their music careers take off as a result of their performances on the reality show.
