This supernatural new series is everything we’ve been waiting for!

M-Net’s new series, Emergence, combines science fiction and mystery to bring you a thrilling drama that will have you on the edge of your seat from the first moment.

When police chief Jo Evans discovers a young girl, Piper, near the site of a plane crash, she – and the audience – knows that all is not as it seems. But with Piper appearing to have no home nor family, Jo can’t get herself to just abandon the mysterious girl. Being recently divorced herself, the truth is that Jo is also vulnerable, and Piper’s arrival couldn’t have come at a better time. But who is Piper and what is she looking for in Peconic Bay?

Meet the characters

The young girl is the mystery that holds the show together. As the series unfolds, it becomes clear that Piper possesses unique skills that no ordinary girl – or human, for that matter – should. But whether she will use her powers for evil or whether Jo’s love will convince her to become good remains to be seen…

Mom to an existing teenage daughter (Mia), police chief and recent divorcee, Jo’s mothering instincts kick into overdrive when she encounters Piper and, for better or for worse, she’s determined to protect her from harm.

Jo’s daughter is sceptical at first – as anyone would be with the sudden arrival of a new member in the family. But Piper may yet win her over.

Of course, any good mystery has to have a journalist who is investigating the whole matter. Enter Benny, who has been looking into Augur Industries, a company that may be able to explain Piper’s presence.

Why you should watch it

An intriguing mystery will enthral fans of other hit sci-fi series such as Lost. Meanwhile, a cast that includes familiar faces such as Clancy Brown, Donald Faison (Scrubs) and Allison Tolman (Fargo) will keep fans of family dramas such as This Is Us coming back for more. Emergence already has a 90% approval rating on Rotten Tomatoes with the website praising its “strongly written characters”. Truly, it’s got a little bit of something for everyone.

Emergence starts on Tuesday 26 November on M-Net (101) at 21:00
