You may know the talented Kriya Gangiah as the presenter of Absolute F1 on SuperSport and from her radio show on Jacaranda FM. But did you know that she's into DIY and has built her own headboard and even a chandelier? Or that she has met The Stig – in person?
"Never in my life did I think that I would have the opportunity to meet The Stig," says Kriya of her lap around Kyalami with the mysterious racing legend. Having grown up watching Top Gear, Kriya says that it was amazing to experience The Stig's driving skills first-hand.
Kriya on how she got into TV
Kriya first got into television as a presenter on Craz-E in 2009, and in the last 10 years, she has gone from success to success. Talking on her career presenting motorsport, she says: "It's not an easy thing to do. It's been so male-dominated. But I love breaking the boundaries!"
Kriya also does some modelling and has been a brand ambassador for MINI and cosmetics brand Catrice.
Who is Kriya's favourite driver?
"Being a sports journalist, I'm technically not supposed to have an opinion," says Kriya who confesses that she has a soft spot for the late Ayrton Senna. She also shared that if she could go to any F1 event, she would choose Singapore.
What does Kriya binge-watch?
Even though she doesn't have much downtime, Kriya likes to watch sitcoms, girly series and animations, especially Disney movies. She also dishes on her perfect high-speed date night activity.
