DStv Connect

To link and unlink your smartcard, logon to your Connect Profile on DStv.co.za, then select DStv Subscriptions, from there you will get options to link and unlink your smartcard.

A Connect ID is a profile that allows users to login to all DStv websites and Apps. These include SuperSport (website and App), DStv.co.za (website), DStv Now (website and App), BoxOffice (website). A Connect ID is required in order to access certain website and App functionality, as well as all services linked to DStv.

You can create a Connect account by clicking "Register" in the top right of the DStv.co.za website and following the prompts in order to complete your registration.

DStv Connect has a "forgot password" link where you request to reset and change your password.

A smartcard is a unique chipped card that exists in your DStv decoder. This card is linked to your decoder and your customer number that was created with MultiChoice when you initiated your DStv subscription. Your smartcard number is on the reverse of your smartcard, underneath the barcode. By linking your smartcard to your Connect ID, we can identify what subscription you are currently enjoying with DStv and deliver the relevant services to you. Please follow the "link smartcard" prompts on the DStv Now website to complete this action.

DStv Connect gives you an option to change your profile picture, name and personal details on the "Update Profile" page on the DStv.co.za website.

One Connect ID can be linked to a single subscription at a specific point in time.

If the customer’s DStv subscription has been either disconnected or cancelled, then they will be advised to reactivate or reconnect.

If the customer did not receive the OTP via SMS or email, then they would have to update the Account Holders information.

The customer will be able to Watch all the DStv Now free channels available.

No, holiday home subscriptions will not be available for linking.

Once a customer has created a Connect ID, they can sign into the DStv website to

  • Update Sign in Details
  • Manage Account Links
  • Watch DStv Now

A customer can sign into the DStv website https://connect.dstv.com and select “Update Sign in Details” to update their details.

The customer can update the following information

  • Name
  • Mobile number
  • Email address
  • Password
  • Country, in instances where the customer is not linked.

A customer can sign into the DStv website https://connect.dstv.com or DStv app and select “Manage Account Links”. The customer will be provided with an option to Unlink DStv Package.

The customer will only be eligible to watch DStv Now free content.

The customer will be able to watch DStv Now linked to their subscription or package selected.

Their DStv Now catalogue will be automatically updated to match their new package or subscription.

Their DStv Now viewing experience will not be affected.

The OTP sent to the customer is valid for one hour.

A customer has a maximum of 4 retries.

The customer will be allowed to attempt another OTP request after an hour.

Linking the Connect ID to a DStv subscription is essential as it gives the customer access to the DStv Now catalogue associated with the subscription they purchased or package they subscribed for.
