The DStv Explora can be connected to the internet for more entertainment. Connection is done using a DStv WiFi Connector or ethernet cable (neither are included with the decoder at the time of purchase.) Please note that data charges apply when the DStv Explora is connected to the internet. Although a capped connection may be used, we recommend an uncapped connection with line speed based on the customer’s viewing requirements.
A minimum 2Mbps is recommended for downloads; for SD viewing, a minimum of 4Mbps; and for HD viewing, a minimum of 10Mbps (plus connection to an HD capable TV).
Our A7 remote gives you full control of your Explora. There’s quick access to your Playlist, Catch Up, BoxOffice, the TV Guide and even Showmax.
This remote features backlighting and can be programmed to control other audio/visual equipment.

Your decoder comes with a one-year warranty. To extend your coverage further, get Device Insurance with DStv. NMS Insurance Services (SA) Limited policy sets out terms and conditions under which your decoder will be insured.

Yes, the decoder comes with the HDMI cable to connect it to your HD TV and the power cable to connect it to the mains.
The recommended installation is an 80cm satellite dish with a DStv Smart LNB.
If your decoder is linked to multiple TVs, linked to other decoders in XtraView or you live in a complex where you cannot install your own individual dish, we recommend chatting to your nearest DStv Accredited Installer for info.

The DStv Explora has a daily maintenance slot and will download the software when it is next switched on again. The downloading of new software takes approximately 10 minutes.
Yes, your DStv Explora can be added to another one or two decoders in XtraView. Please chat to your local DStv Accredited Installer for more information on available decoder combinations and any changes that may be required to your installation.
Please note, there is a second monthly Access Fee required when linking three decoders in XtraView.
